Getting Down to our enduring stories
Our community is unbreakable, and our liberation is possible.
Hello my dear DTTS community,
Wherever you are, and whatever you are feeling, please know that I am sending you all love and light. No matter what happens, you will always have a home here.
Our beloved ancestor Audre Lorde once said, “Without community, there is no liberation.”
For me, these words have never rung more true than in this moment, as I stand in a country to which I no longer feel that I belong. Where it seems that self-interest, hatred, and hunger for power have triumphed over love and justice.
But when I think of you, my community of podcast listeners and guests, I remember that love is alive, and I believe that justice will, indeed, prevail. That is because we dare to exist—we dare to share our stories, to take up space, to insist that we are deserving of joy and full of humanity.
Without community, there is no liberation.
—Audre Lorde
As we all process the events of the last few days, know that I am here with you. Know that our community is unbreakable, and our liberation is possible. I will continue to tell your stories, to share your light. Together, we will lift up our voices, and they will speak louder than any hatred and injustice.
Thank you all for listening to the stories we create. I hope they help all of us see each other more clearly, and recognize the liberation that we can find in one another.
In solidarity,
Qudsiya
